The BBC Is The Most Shared News Brand on Twitter [STUDY]

A new study has revealed that the BBC is both a leader in global breaking news and the most retweeted news source on Twitter.

The survey, which was conducted by the BBC in partnership with LiveStation, examined the four main international news providers – which includes the broadcaster alongside CNN International, Sky and Al Jazeera – and found that the BBC’s international news coverage came from the widest range of locations.

The BBC also has the largest number of correspondents around the world and broke news at least as fast – and sometimes faster – than its rivals.

The study noted that stories from the BBC were shared 2.7 million times on Twitter in March, almost 50 percent more than any other publisher.

“Audiences rightly value the BBC for its accuracy and impartiality and we are consistently rated the world’s most trusted news broadcaster,” said Peter Horrocks, Chairman, BBC Global News Ltd. “This data also shows we are just as fast as our competitors and are number one for breaking news from around the world.”

The findings from the survey have been collated in the visual below.
