'Barefoot in Baghdad' Author at Busboy & Poets Tonight
Manal Omar, author of the newly released Barefoot in Baghdad, is scheduled to appear at Busboy & Poets (1025 5th St. NW) tonight from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Cillen Room. The author is director of Iraq Programs at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington.
A snapshot of the book: The author “chronicles her journey as Baghdad’s country director for Women for Women International, a nonprofit NGO that helps the most marginalized women rebuild their lives in the face of war.
