Bad News Babes Take on Congress for the Congressional Women’s Softball Game

Can the women of Congress defend their title?

Congressional-softballA tradition begun in 2009 will play out once more this evening, in a softball battle that pits a bipartisan cadre of congresswomen against a multi-platform group of female journalists from the D.C. press corps, known, for our purposes here, as the Bad News Babes.

Neither just a game or opportunity for bragging rights, it’s a fundraiser for the Young Survival Coalition, a breast cancer support and education organization aimed at young women diagnosed with breast cancer and breast cancer survivors. The game has raised over $500,000 for the organization since 2009.

The game starts at 6 p.m. at the Watkins Recreation Center, located at 420 12th St SE. Tickets are $10.
