According to the social network, 78 percent of Facebook users in the U.S. who talk about back to school are women, and 42.7 percent are moms, while 25 percent of conversations on the subject take place between college-age adults, 18 through 24.

In Canada, meanwhile, women talk about back to school three times more often than men do, and 38 percent of related conversations come from mothers, while those aged 18 through 24 are responsible for 27 percent of back-to-school-related chatter.

Facebook said in its Facebook for Business post:

School-related chatter on Facebook starts to pick up in late July, about one month before the traditional back-to-school period, with a strong spike in conversations during the last two weeks of August.
