Babuki IM lets you chat with Facebook friends

babuki.jpgJust when Facebook is all set to launch its own chat facility, a third party developer comes into the picture with its own for-Facebook only IM client – Babuki. Babuki is somewhat similar to Social IM, another third party developed IM facility created specifically for Facebook. Whether Babuki stand a chance of persuading Facebook users to use Babuki’s IM client would depend on how good the soon to be launched Facebook IM will be.

im-screen2.jpgBabuki as an IM client for Facebook can be used as a stand-alone desktop application, a straight out Facebook application or a stand-alone web application. Whichever you choose to use is up to you. All three give you the facility to chat with your Facebook friends.

What’s interesting about Babuki are its three add-on features – integrate all your contacts from other IM clients (GTalk, AIM, MSN, Yahoo Messenger, Livejournal and even MySpace contacts) under one account in Babuki. In addition, Babuki can also be used as an email client that can cull your email messages from other web-mail services.

To make it even more exciting, Babuki also lets you send free SMS to your friends.
Are those features enticing enough for you? Why not give it a try? There’s no harm in trying out Babuki while we are all waiting for Facebook’s very own chat feature. Who knows, you might even like it and don’t bother using Facebook chat anymore? But that’s wishful thinking.
