AutoTrader.com hit the gas on a new app for its Facebook page, hoping to accelerate car shopping by bringing enhanced searching ability to potential buyers.

Visitors to the AutoTrader.com Facebook page can now search for vehicles by body style, make, model, year, and price range.

Once the search is complete, they can filter their results, and get details about specific cars from AutoTrader.com.

The online auto retailer said it launched a paid media campaign on Facebook to steer attention to the new features on its page, in addition to driving an email blast at its existing customer base.
