Author of Facebook Tell-All Appears on CNBC

Ben Mezrich, author of The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, which is in the process of being made into a movie, appeared on CNBC Wednesday to talk about the book and Facebook’s characterization of him as Silicon Valley’s Jackie Collins or Danielle Steele.

Mezrich speaks about Eduardo Saverin, who helped Facebook cofounder Mark Zuckerberg to launch Facebook, and how the site started as a college prank and was originally intended to be a “hot or not” Website.

Some quotes from Mezrich:

It was a couple of geeky kids at Harvard who could not meet girls, and it was essentially a college prank that led to Facebook.

Mark Zuckerberg is an absolute genius. Without Mark Zuckerberg, there would be no Facebook.

The kid who created the greatest social network in the world is very socially awkward. His best friend is his computer.

Twitter is the Macarena of the Internet. It’s a short-term, fun thing.

Jackie Collins? I love Jackie Collins!

I understand why Zuckerberg is terrified of the book.
