Australian Police Discouraging Use of Apple Maps

Police have been rescuing stranded motorists in the Australian wilderness, prompting Apple to update its map of the Murray-Sunset National Park and Mildura area. Distressed motorists have relied on police rescue after being lost for up to 24 hours without adequate food and water.

Getting lost in the Australian Bush can be a dangerous affair as vehicles can get bogged down in the sand and phone reception may mean walking for miles in the desert heat.
