At Mondrian South Beach, Walking in a Wanders Wonderland

We’ve been cooing over the renderings for the Marcel Wanders-designed Mondrian South Beach hotel and residences for well over a year now, and now that the place has had its gala grand opening, we can admire the real thing. The photo at right shows how the hotel’s outdoor area mixes the Miami cool of the Delano pool (the property is owned by Morgans Hotel Group) with a moorish-flavored Alice in Wonderland vibe. All we know is that next week, if all goes according to plan, we’ll be blogging from that inviting mound of pillows overlooking Biscayne Bay.
