At Art Basel, Ruinart Presents Cutting-Edge Collaboration with Georgia Russell

ruinartDespite a name that suggests marred canvases, Ruinart has consistently exhibited a sharp eye for creative collaborations, joining forces with the likes of Patricia Urquiola, Piet Hein Eek, and Gideon Rubin. The champagne house’s latest project involves Scottish artist Georgia Russell, who has crafted ornaments to encase bottles of bubbly and taken a scalpel to a copy of Le Grand Livre, the 18th century ledger detailing the achievements of Ruinart. “Creating a contemporary, ornamental artwork inspired by the pages of Ruinart’s renowned ledger is a continuation of my practice of cutting paper to bring the past into the present,” says Russell.
