Aspiring Model’s Dreams Fulfilled

makeawish2.jpgIn the Michael Stars store at the Grove this evening, 17-year-old aspiring model Hallie Farrant got dolled up and ready for what her handlers called her “inaugural turn down the catwalk.”

Hallie strutted her stuff as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s “Weekly Wish Night At the Grove” series.

Hallie is battling Von Hippel-Lindau disease, a rare genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow — she’s had her pancreas, spleen, gallbladder and adrenal glands removed. Hallie said her dream of becoming a model has given her strength through her disease, so she was sweetly giddy tonight. And, since no wish is ever truly fulfilled unless a celebrity’s in the picture, the foundation arranged for Hallie to meet Cheryl Tiegs at the end of her mini fashion show.
