Are You Selling Yourself Wrong In Interviews?

TalentDrive, an online resume aggregator, surveyed nearly 80,000 jobseekers and 20,000 hiring managers about the gap between jobseekers’ and managers’ expectations. Perhaps unsurprisingly, said gap is widening.

That may be why people aren’t getting jobs, because out of the 80,000 jobseekers surveyed, 86 percent were considered “actively seeking employment.” Out of those jobseekers, 3/4 had been on an average of 5 interviews a month since beginning their searches.

So something must be going wrong in the interview process.

The study also reported that 71 percent of hiring managers said that the majority of their open positions were “specialized.”
