Are new X Boxes hurting sales of video games?

Cagey consumers awaiting to see if the world’s largest software company ‘s X Box 360 would prove itself depressed the world’s largest gaming company’s profits, Reuters reports.

Revenue declined to $1.27 billion from $1.43 billion at the Marina del Rey-based Electronic Arts during the holiday quarter.

It seems counter-intuitive, but a new product launch actually can hurt the video game business in two ways: As consumers begin to stop buying the old console’s games, and as gamers hold back to see if the new system is all that it’s cracked up to be.
