Apps From the Facebook NPE Team Begin Surfacing, but Not in the U.S.

One-on-one chat app Bump and music app Aux have been spotted

The first two applications from the Facebook NPE Team have been spotted in the wild, but neither is available in the U.S.

The social network formed its NPE Team—the NPE stands for New Product Experimentation—in July, with the aim of creating new consumer-focused apps and features, saying at the time that the purpose behind the initiative was to determine whether people found features useful or engaging, potentially helping to inform its product strategy going forward.

Facebook would not comment on specific apps produced by the Facebook NPE Team.

Bump—available for iOS and Android in Canada and the Philippines—is described in its Google Play Store listing as an app that “makes it easy to start fun, anonymous one-on-one chats with people in your community.”
