Apple Signs Nonexclusive AT&T iPhone Agreement

As Apple prepares to release iPhones through Verizon, the company has signed a new non-exclusive agreement with AT&T. This will bring an end to all exclusive carrier contracts around the world.

Apple Insider reports: “Without going into details, Apple’s chief operations officer Tim Cook described signing ‘a multi-year, non-exclusive deal with AT&T,’ before affirming that ‘we are not in a contractual exclusivity now in any country in the world; the last one was the US. We have moved away from those.’”

With this new opening, we wonder if iPhones will be available on the other U.S. carriers as well. Will Sprint an T-Mobile be next? T-Mobile will have to rethink their anti-iPhone commercials.
