Apocalypse Publicist Back at Work

Robert Fitzpatrick, a former NY MTA worker, in Times Square awaiting the rapture.

Well that didn’t happen.

In case you hadn’t noticed, you’re sitting in front of your computer reading PRNewser, meaning the rapture did not go as planned and we can make Memorial Day BBQ plans after all. One person (among many perhaps) unhappy about this non-event is Tom Evans, aka “PR man for the apocalypse” that wasn’t.

“Of course there’s disappointment,” Evans told CNN, speaking on behalf of himself rather than Family Radio, the organization that set the May 21st date.  He goes on, “For us to say it was absolute, I think that’s where we went wrong. That’s where we strayed, and that I would gladly apologize for.”

Evans added that he expects to continue with his job and a comment from Family Radio’s Harold Camping would be forthcoming. Today we got that comment; Camping said he’s “flabbergasted” and called it a “tough weekend.”
