AP Stylebook Tackles Digital

Besides the food guidelines that it introduced, the AP Stylebook has also added a number of new social media terms to this year’s guide. Among them, geolocation, end user, and unfollow.

There are also a number of new acronyms in the book, including ROFL (rolling on the floor laughing) and POS (parent over shoulder).  In March, the AP Style folks announced that “email” would lose the hyphen and both “cellphone” and “smartphone” would be spelled as one word.
