AOL Taps Mark Ellis to Oversee Platform-A

Mark Ellis has been named to the new position of executive vp of sales for AOL’s Platform-A, the latest move initiated by recently installed Platform-A president Greg Coleman, who took over AOL’s sales operations in February.

A five-year AOL veteran, Ellis was most recently senior vp, vertical and product sales. As the former head of AOL’s Detroit office, Ellis is credited with improving AOL’ sales efforts in the autos category.

In his new role, said officials, he’ll look to jump start AOL’s sales efforts for its vast Platform-A ad network as well as the company’s burgeoning original content business, which was recently rebranded as MediaGlow.
