Anri Sala Wins Vincent Award

anri sala vincent award

Anri Sala is the winner of the 2014 Vincent award. The Albanian-born, Berlin-based artist bested fellow shortlistees Pierre Huyghe (France), Manfred Pernice (Germany), Willem de Rooij (Netherlands), and Gillian Wearing (United Kingdom) to take home the €50,000 (approximately $60,000) prize, which was announced recently at the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague. The work Sala created for the Vincent award exhibition—an installation that combines his Le Clash (2010), Tlatelolco Clash (2011), and Doldrum (2014)—is on view at The Hague’s GEM Museum of Contemporary Art through February 2, 2015.
