Another Free-Agency Hire: Elle.com's Pezik Joins Hearst Digital

In a series of moves that's beginning to mirror the scramble for talent thanks to the kickoff of the NBA's free-agency season, Hearst continues its hiring rampage today with the announcement that it's picked up Elle.com executive editor Anna Pezik to head up the fashion and beauty divisions of Hearst Digital. She starts at the newly created position July 12, and will be overseeing Web operations for HarpersBazaar.com and RealBeauty.com. Pezik had been at Elle.com since 2008, and has also worked for Brides.com, Life & Style Weekly and InStyle.com. She graduated from Lehigh University and did time in the Euro leagues at the Sorbonne. No word yet on whether she can hit a 20-foot jumper in crunch time. Press release after the jump. New York -- July 01, 2010 -- Anna Pezik will join Hearst Magazines Digital Media as fashion and beauty director, in a newly created position where she will oversee the web teams for HarpersBazaar.com and RealBeauty.com. Pezik starts July 12 in her new role and will report to Mark Weinberg, vice president of programming and product strategy. She also will provide guidance and coordinate planning for fashion and beauty coverage across the Hearst Magazines Digital Media portfolio of sites. The Hearst Beauty and Fashion Network ranks fourth for all sites in the Beauty/Fashion/Style category, according to comScore May 2010. Pezik comes from Elle.com, where she served as executive editor since 2008, and was responsible for day-to-day editorial operations and execution of content, projects and seasonal packages. She has also worked in editorial positions for Brides.com, Life & Style Weekly, and InStyle.com.
