Animoca crosses 220 million downloads, releases Star Girl: Valentine Hearts

Hong Kong based mobile game developer and publisher Animoca has passed 220 million downloads across iOS, Google Play and the Amazon App Store. The company has released over 300 apps since launching in early 2011, and today announces the release of the newest game in its popular Star Girl franchise, Star Girl: Valentine Hearts.

Released just in time for Valentine’s Day, Star Girl: Valentine Hearts is a fashion-themed RPG that allows players to dress up in Valentine’s Day-themed clothing and accessories before finding a special date for the big day. The game allows players to carry over their Star Girl character from other games in the franchise, and is available to download for free on iOS, Google Play and the Amazon App Store.

In addition to Star Girl: Valentine Hearts, Animoca has recently released five other apps across iOS, Google Play or the Amazon App Store.

Pretty Pet Jewel Town is a continuation of the Pretty Pets franchise, seeing Cuby and his friends completing puzzles by making matches with jewels. The game is available to download for free on Google Play.

Clumsy Cuby: Interactive Pet also stars Cuby from the Pretty Pets games, but as a clumsy baby pet. Aimed at children, the app allows users to interact with Cuby in 3D as they feed him, make him dance and play games with him. The app is available for free on Google Play.

Animoca has taken its experience with the Star Girl fashion RPGs, and turned the same ideas into a new experience: Beauty Idol. The anime-styled game allows players to become a rock star, actress or supermodel, dressing the part as they live the life of a celebrity. Beauty Idol is available for free on iOS, Google Play and the Amazon App Store.

Elsewhere, Doraemon Repair Shop is the company’s latest time management game, testing players’ reflexes as they help a robotic cat named Doraemon and his friends repair broken appliances and furniture, all with a theme of recycling materials and saving the planet. The game is available for free on iOS, Google Play and the Amazon App Store.

Finally, Hidden Origin: Lost Mystery offers hidden object scenes, challenging players to “discover the truth behind [their] forgotten identity.” The game combines hidden object scenes with puzzles and mini-games, and is available to download for free on the Amazon App Store.

Animoca attributes its success to its “app supermarket” approach, as the company aims to offer something for everyone, across multiple genres and themes.

“I’m proud of our team’s commitment to producing high quality games and creating original, innovative mobile experiences,” said David Kim, co-founder and CEO of Animoca. “The new Animoca games launched so far this year are just a sign of things to come as we prepare to announce several more exciting new launches in the coming weeks.”
