F’rinstance – I had no idea that last night’s Oscar winner for Best Director Ang Lee and I share the same mediocre college transcripts:

Per the AP,

“Lee’s triumph marked a stunning vindication for someone who failed his college entrance exams twice — a stinging blow for the son of a high-school principal who was expected to get ahead in Taiwan’s supercharged academic atmosphere…Instead he was relegated to a place at the National Arts School, then a lightly regarded vocational school.”
