Facebook added a feature to its flagship Android application that allows U.S. users who like the pages of participating television shows to receive reminders about upcoming episodes.

The “What’s New” section in the Facebook app’s listing on Google Play reads:

Set reminders for upcoming episodes of your favorite TV shows on participating pages (U.S. only).

The new Android feature continues Facebook’s recent efforts to more closely integrate itself with TV.

The social network reached an agreement with hit ABC reality-competition series “Dancing with the Stars” in September, giving the show’s producers access to the public feed application-programming interface and keyword insights API it introduced earlier that month, and enabling them to display conversations from the social network during broadcasts.
