Amazon unveils Game Center-like GameCircle, adds leaderboards, achievement and cloud sync to Kindle Fire games
Amazon is bolstering the Kindle Fire’s gaming features, announcing today its GameCircle APIs have come out of beta, allowing all Kindle Fire developers to add social features and cloud saves to their titles.
Similar to Apple’s Game Center service, Amazon’s GameCircle API give developers the ability to add achievements and global leaderboards with percentile rankings to their games. GameCircle also supports cloud syncing, a feature that allows players to resume a game if they switch from one Kindle Fire device to another, and keep their progress and achievements even if they delete an app.
