Amazon’s Kindle 2 is sold out. The eReader is listed as “Temporarily out of stock.”
While Amazon is still taking orders, the retailer does not say when the order will ship. The site says: “Order now and we’ll deliver when available. We’ll e-mail you with an estimated delivery date as soon as we have more information. Your account will only be charged when we ship the item.”
Could a new generation of the Kindle be on its way? Or is this inventory issue simply because Amazon just can’t keep these $189 eReaders on the shelf? After all, Kindle books are outselling hardcovers on the site.
