Add a Google Friend Connect Social Bar to your Site

friendconnect-logoIf you are actively using Google Friend Connect on your respective sites or blogs, you’ll be glad to know that Google has just added a new feature to it which you can implement. The new feature is called Social Bar and it shows basic social functions of Google Friend Connect as a bar that you can put either on top or at the bottom of your site.

The Google Friend Connect Social Bar contains a sign-in link, your site’s activities, wall gadget and your site’s visitors. The sign in link located on the left of the social bar can be used by your users to join your site through Google Friend Connect, see their identity as well as edit their profiles and settings.

The next part of the Social Bar lets your visitors see whats currently happening on your site. Whether you posted a new post, somebody posted a comment and the likes. It also provides you with the links to recent posts on your site.

The wall gadget lets you add various Google gadgets into the Social Bar, either a discussion, connect with other members of your site, and even rate a particular part of your site.

The last part of the Social Bar lets you see the other members of your site, check out their profiles on Google, and ask them to become your Friends.

You can easily add the Google Friend Connect Social Bar to your site by visiting this link or watching the video below. It’s really easy. I was able to implement it on my personal blog in less than a minute.
