Actress Patricia Neal Dead at 84

Patricia Neal died this past Sunday at her Edgartown, Massachusetts home. The cause of death was lung cancer.

Neal had a long and accomplished career as an actress in stage and film. Her credits include the original run of Lillian Hellman’s play “Another Part of the Forest,” the 1949 film “The Fountainhead” based on Ayn Rand’s novel, and a small part in the film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” Younger audiences may remember her from her title role in Robert Altman’s 1999 film “Cookie’s Fortune.”
