Facebook Acquires Mac-Based App Developer Acrylic

The Facebook family continues to grow. Acrylic, which develops applications for Mac and iOS devices, announced through its blog on Friday that it has been acquired by Facebook.

The Facebook family continues to grow. Acrylic, which develops applications for Mac and iOS devices, announced through its blog Friday that it has been acquired by Facebook.

Vancouver-based Acrylic is responsible for the creation of Pulp, a newsreader app, and Wallet, a secure database app.

The company’s founder, Dustin MacDonald, commented on the acquisition on Acrylic’s blog:

Facebook is an invaluable service that we all use daily, and a company that I believe is one of the most innovative and important around today.
