A Look at Presidential Approval and Cable News Network Ratings

2013obamahenry660Our sister site TVNewser recently looked at President Barack Obama’s approval ratings and the quarterly averages of primetime and total day ratings of FOX News Channel, CNN, and MSNBC during the same time period.

President Obama had an approval rating of 64% in the first quarter of 2009, which has since fallen to a rating of 42%. FOX News and MSNBC’s highest primetime and total day ratings were seen in the final quarter of 2012, during President Obama’s second election when his approval rating was at 51%. CNN’s primetime and total day ratings peak was during first quarter 2009 at the time of President Obama’s first inauguration when his rating was the highest.
