325.6 Million Phones Sold in Second Quarter of 2010: Android Overtook iPhone Worldwide

I’ve seen and commented on a lot of “smartphone” sales and web-share statistics. These are interesting. But, Gartner’s total worldwide mobile phone (“smart” or otherwise) sales really puts things in perspective.

Gartner Says Worldwide Mobile Device Sales Grew 13.8 Percent in Second Quarter of 2010, But Competition Drove Prices Down

They estimate that 325.6 million mobile phones were sold in the second quarter of 2010. Although Nokia has its share of business problems, they still were the biggest manufacturer of phones with sales of more than 111 million units.
