Fall is officially here and we’ve decided to bid Summer 2011 farewell with a roundup of some of the best viral videos from the season. We’ve picked out thirty videos that we think sum up the best of the best to hit YouTube this summer. They all have over 1 million views, resulted in tons of conversation and, in our opinion, are definitely worth watching. So without further ado we bring you…30 of the best viral videos of summer 2011! eHarmony Video Bio Actress Cara Hartmann hit it big with her eHarmony Video Bio back in June, raking in nearly 16 million views this summer and inspiring a whole slew of hilarious parodies. This just may be the most memorable video-turned-meme from Summer 2011. DC Shoes: Ken Block’s Gymkhana Four The latest viral hit from DC Shoes—Ken Block’s Gymkhana Four—has garnered over 9 million views since it hit YouTube in mid-August. Talk about some crazy driving skills! Cat Gone (Hunchback Cat) This crazy hunchback cat video is a short one but it has been viewed over 9 million times. This is personally one of my favorite Summer YouTube hits. I have watched it again and again and it never stops making me laugh. Spider Cat If you liked hunchback cat you’ll LOVE Spider Cat! AI vs. AI. Two chatbots talking to each other What happens if you set up two chatbots to talk to have a conversation? Apparently the results are amazing! This video has been viewed over 2.2 million times since the end of August. "I am not a robot. I am a unicorn." Party Rock Anthem – Kia Soul Hamster Commercial This summer the Kia Soul hamsters made a comeback with a brand new viral ad and, as usual, they’re dancing their pants off! The ad has been viewed over 4.2 million times to date. Click here to find out more. OK Go and The Muppets – Muppet Show Theme OK Go and The Muppets have both proven themselves to be highly viral, so you can only imagine that when they got together this summer the results were explosive. OK Go’s cover of The Muppet Show Theme has racked up over 3.2 million views so far. Kenny Powers – K-Swiss CEO video (Uncensored) – NSFW Language K-Swiss wins the award for the best branded viral video of the summer, in my humble opinion. Their not-so-safe-for-work campaign stars Danny McBride as his Eastbound and Down character Kenny Powers as he becomes the "MFCEO" of K-Swiss and changes the sports world forever. Madeon – Pop Culture With over 4.7 million views, Madeon’s Pop Culture mashup was definitely the YouTube pop music mashup of the summer. Ultimate Batting Practice This video may be fake, but it’s awesome anyway. 2.6 million views don’t lie! Mariachi Connecticut Serenades A Beluga Whale Another one of my personal faves, this video of a mariachi band performing for a beluga whale has garnered nearly 2 million views since it went viral in mid-August. I’m a Stupid Cat! – NSFW Language YouTube viewers love cats, so it’s no surprise that this funny song about cats has been viewed over 5.4 million times this summer. But if you’ve got something against "explicit lyrics" then you may want to pass on this one… iPad Head Girl Thinkmodo raked in over 1 million views with this awesome campaign for Cosmo For Guys. It’s a girl with an iPad for a head that lets men truly see what women are thinking. Best Prayer EVER! Pastor Joe Nelms – Nascar Nationwide Pastor Joe Nelms gave one of the most unusual pre-race prayers of all time at the Nascar Nationwide series race in Nashville, TN, garnering over 2.5 million views. Shortly after the video went viral the Gregory Brothers jumped on board to songify it! Check out the original and songified version below. Hey Ya Aren’t these just the cutest little kids you’ve ever seen?! Kids fighting cause she wants to marry him Here’s another kid vid that got all sorts of attention this summer, with over 2 million views. This little boy is terribly upset because the little girl wants to marry him. Cone-ing Is The New Planking!!! Planking was a big fad in the spring but this summer a new YouTube trend took root—coneing! Coneing consists of driving through McDonalds, ordering an ice cream cone and then grabbing it from the ice cream end, just to freak out the McDonalds employee. Challenge | New Old Spice Guy Fabio This summer Old Spice caused a social media stir when they launched a new response campaign—this time featuring Fabio! What did you think of the Old Spice campaign of Summer 2011? How did it measure up against last year’s Old Spice response campaign? Rebecca Black – My Moment Rebecca Black released her second single over the summer—My Moment. While it didn’t receive the same viral response that Friday did, she still racked up over 26 million views and spawned a few hilarious parodies. Check out her video and one of our favorite parodies below. The parody has been viewed nearly 5 million times. Marine in Afghanistan asks Mila Kunis To Marine Corps Ball This summer there was a trend of marines inviting celebrities to the Marine Corps Ball. One Marine invited Mila Kunis, one invited Justin Timberlake, and one even invited Betty White! Here’s the video that started it all. Wow It’s mom, but I’m sleepy This video is one of the cutest of the summer for sure, with over 3.7 million views. Kitten vs TWO scary things And for those of you that find kittens cuter than babies, here’s an adorable kitten video that has been viewed nearly 4 million times since it hit YouTube in July. How to avoid getting hit by a train I don’t want to say anything that will ruin the ending of this video for you, so just watch. Trust me…it’s amazing. CARP ATTACK Imagine you are just going for a relaxing boat ride down a river when suddenly, out of the blue, you are attacked by flying carp! AHHH! This video has over 1.8 million views to date. Seagull Stole GoPro A French seagull really liked a GoPro camera so he flew away with it in this amazing summer viral hit, which has been viewed over 2.7 million times. There was a lot of controversy this summer over whether the video was real or not. GoPro claimed they had nothing to do with it. El Willy You can’t have a list of viral videos without a dancing dog, can you? Cat gets caught barking by a human and resumes meowing The title says it all! This video has been viewed over 7.6 million times since the end of June. Deep-Fried Cherry Kool Aid Balls Deep-Fried Cherry Kool Aid Balls were trending on Twitter for days because of this video of a strange San Diego County Fair snack. The original video seems to have been taken down, but here’s a copy. Kid playing Dance Central Disturbia on Hard This little guy is going to be quite the dancer! Actually, he already is and he’s got over 1.7 million views to prove it! Webcam 101 for Seniors… And last but not least, this video is my absolute favorite video from Summer 2011. It was uploaded just over a month ago, went viral last week and has already garnered over 7.7 million views. This has got to be the cutest old couple ever! What was your favorite video of the summer?
