23% of Mobile Users Remember Mobile Ads

Nearly one quarter (23%) of mobile users in the U.S. have received some form of mobile advertising in the past month, according to a Cellular-news report on the most recent Nielsen Mobile Advertising Report. The good news for advertisers? Some 51% of those who remember seeing a mobile ad said they responded to it.

mobile_coupon.JPGNielsen found that the number of respondents who remembered seeing mobile advertising grew by 28% from the second quarter of 2007 to the fourth quarter, or from 42 million to 58 million subscribers.

Thirty-two percent of all data users said they’d be “open to mobile advertising” if it resulted in a lower cell phone bill, the article reports. Also, 13% said they’d be willing to receive mobile ads if it meant more and better available content and 23% responded that they “expect to see more mobile advertising in the future.”

Nielsen surveyed more than 22,000 active mobile data users for the study.
