2006 Ellies: Time, New York, VQR, New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Esquire All Get 2, Toss Atlantic Shut Out

The bigger, badder, sexier National Magazine Awards were held at Lincoln Center on Tuesday evening, and there were plenty to go around. Time, New York, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Esquire and the Virginia Quarterly Review each received a pair of Ellies. The Atlantic Monthly, however, was shut out despite being nominated for 8 awards — more than any other magazine.

Time won for general excellence for a magazine with a circulation of over 2,000,000. It was Time‘s first in that category since 1985.
