Doctor Who Encyclopedia now Out on the iPad

The latest Doctor Who series ended a few weeks ago, so if you’re like me right now you’re looking for your next fix. Good news. A DW encyclopedia app was released this week for the iPad. It covers friends, foes, and story lines as well as background details and info not explicitly stated in the series.

But I’m not sure “encyclopedia” is the right word. The app costs £5, and it only covers the past couple series. Data on the earlier series (episode lists, character bios) costs extra. If you want a true encyclopedia, a simple Google search will find any number of fan supported sites dedicated to documenting every last detail about DW (here’s one). Or you could buy a paper copy, but that wouldn’t have the latest info. Also, a complete DW encyclopedia would probably rival the Encyclopedia Britannica in size.
