Love them or hate them, the New York Yankees have a pretty cool logo—the best sports logo of the 20th century, in fact, at least according to an Internet survey by sports-logo specialist Section 219. Four of the top five logos on the list are from baseball—the Yankees, the Chicago Cubs, the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals. Basketball’s Boston Celtics came in at No. 4. Section 219 had graphic designers and other marketing types analyze thousands of logos used between 1901 and 2000.
