I had no idea that Willard Scott claims to have created the Ronald McDonald character in some local TV spots back in the early 1960s. (See one of those early ads here.) In the ad above, apparently from the ’70s, Willard is selling a Ronald McDonald doll. Coulrophobes, please move along.
