Unlike another female tennis player whose image has been often downloaded over the years, Maria Sharapova isn’t just another pretty face. Nike has some fun with that in this U.S. Open spot. And yes, in this commercial she is feeling pretty and witty and bright, not pretty and witty and gay. But that isn’t Nike’s change. The original stage lyrics for West Side Story were “bright” and “tonight.” They were changed to “gay” and “today” for the movie.
