LONDON—Horse racing is a popular sport in the U.K., but like all live events, lockdown restrictions mean spectators have been banned from watching it in person.

Ascot racecourse, in Berkshire, southern England, hosts a number of races including Royal Ascot, an event that dates back to the 1800s. For the first time in its history, jockeys raced last year without the traditional roar of the crowd.

To drum up anticipation for future events and its hopeful return for spectators this year, Royal Ascot has launched a clever short film that shows a woman daydreaming as she looks out of her window on a dreary day.

To the finish line

As the raindrops fall, she reimagines them racing to the finish line.
