Cindy Hernandez understands firsthand how much of an impact racism can have on those who are most vulnerable. As Fred & Farid’s art director, she also knows that she has the power to make a difference.

“Growing up in the Afro-Latino community, I’d hear a lot of hurtful stereotypes and self-hatred,” she tells Adweek, “so to create something that could help abolish that meant that much more to me.”

With this in mind, she cites her work on the Black in Color digital series, a project by the Action Network group at Forsman & Bodenfors NYC that highlights positive statistics about the Black community, as her proudest creative moment.
