Is this, along with locusts and a sea of blood, a sign of the apocalypse? The aroma of Play-Doh has been bottled and is being marketed as perfume by Hasbro as a tie-in to the product’s 50th anniversary. “Out in time for Mother’s Day,” a press release reads, “the 1-ounce, spray-bottle fragrance is meant for ‘highly-creative people, who seek a whimsical scent reminiscent of their childhood.’ ” I may have a hard time figuring out what to get Mom this year, but one thing I can guarantee is that she doesn’t want to go back 30 years and smell like Play-Doh.
