A campaign in honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is looking to combat rising anti-Asian racism by sharing the stories of Seattle’s leaders and celebrities while encouraging other AAPI community members to make their voices heard.

The “Our Stories Are Your Stories” campaign launched with a 30-second spot focused on the diversity of the AAPI community, which spans five generations representing 50 countries. Backed by Hollis’ “All My Weight,” the short film references to the Chinese Exclusion Act, Japanese-American Internment Camps and Muslim Ban trace America’s long history of anti-Asian sentiments while personal stories work to build empathy and understanding.
