Not so stunning insights from Trump’s blog

Donaldtrumpmatthew_peytonbravonbcWe’ve no idea why Donald Trump’s blog is suddenly making the rounds—it appears to have been up, if sparsely populated, since May—but since one of its posts is about marketing we thought we’d point it out. The Trump Blog—like he’d pick another name for it!—is billed as “Ideas and Opinions from Donald Trump and his circle of experts,” but is really an attempt to market Trump University via stunning insights. Here are some choice ones from the Donald: “The glamour and grandeur of my buildings and my life are no mere trappings” (oh really?) and “My career is a model of tough, fair dealing and fantastic success—without shortcuts, without breaking the law” (take that Bernie Ebbers!). And now for the post with the marketing insight, provided by Andy Bein, who is listed as a member of the TrumpU faculty: “Our basic needs aren’t much different than they were in Solomon’s time, but our wants are changing all the time.” We knew that already, way, way before we craved an iPod.
