The struggles of marginalized genders working in STEM are many. For some, both the cause of these issues and the path to solving them lies in the past.

The barriers that prevented women like Mileva Marić, Albert Einstein’s first wife, from entering the same fields as men loomed high in their day. But their subsequent erasure from the history books of STEM’s greatest minds left us with a homogenized view of the past that continues to discourage young women from pursuing careers in these fields.
