McKinney makes game about homelessness

Inspiration meets innovation at Brandweek, the ultimate marketing experience. Join industry luminaries, rising talent and strategic experts in Phoenix, Arizona this September 23–26 to assess challenges, develop solutions and create new pathways for growth. Register early to save.

If you were $10 away from living on the streets, would you pocket money from your kid’s birthday card? If you could only afford to pay one bill, would it be gas or electricity? With its new game, “Spent,” for Urban Ministries of Durham, ad agency McKinney makes you experience the hard choices that often lead to homelessness. The goal of the game is to find a job and then keep some of your money in the bank for a month.
