Speaking of John McCain’s pop-culture exploits, he’s currently in trouble with Jackson Browne for using his song "Running on Empty" in campaign ads. Only a Republican would crib a song from a guy who hasn’t had a hit in like 20 years. But it might not be McCain’s fault. According to his campaign, "the ad in question is not a McCain campaign ad but one put together by the Ohio Republican Party." Really, it doesn’t matter who made the ad, because someone thought associating the phrase "Running on Empty" with McCain would help his chances.
