Sir Frank Lowe no doubt loves his new ad agency’s name, Red Brick Road, but as the Guardian reports (registration required, unfortunately), a small company in Kansas has been using the name Red Brick Road for years. The U.S. version “makes promotional pens, caps, badges and stationery for local retailers and car yards,” according to the story. “Welcome to Redbrickroad.com. Your path to successful marketing,” says its Web site. Lowe says his agency’s name is a reference to The Wizard of Oz—that the red brick road represents the path not taken.
