KFC dropped the C-word on live TV–no, not that one.

The fast-food chain repeats the word “chickens” in a new ad for the U.K. and Ireland markets. But it’s not talking about cooking the birds–rather, the campaign promotes chicken welfare.

That may come as a surprise given KFC’s signature dish is fried chicken, but the brand says that serving quality chicken must start with high animal welfare standards on farms. This week, KFC U.K. and Ireland became the only business awarded top-tier status in the World Animal Protection’s Pecking Order 2021 report.

Created by Mother London, the ad takes the style of a press conference and begins by issuing a warning: “We’re about to drop the C-bomb on national television.”
