Bidding is up to $10,300 to rent PETA president Ingrid
Newkirk
for a day, an increase of $4200 from when we first wrote about this last Thursday. Still,
the price she goes for—the auction ends this coming Thursday—is the least
interesting part of this latest PETA PR ploy. What we really want to know is who
will win, and what they will do with Ms. Newkirk once she is their personal
slave. (Well, the copy on the eBay ad refers to her as being auctioned off as “a
personal assistant for a day,” but we somehow think some people would pay a lot
to hold her in some form of headline-instigating captivity.)
