Another five advertisers have bolted from Michael Savage’s syndicated show on Talk Radio Network, protesting the host’s late-2007 remarks about Muslims. Salvos like, “I don’t wanna hear one more word about Islam. Take your religion and shove it up your behind,” might work for Ann Coulter, but Savage isn’t a conservative icon. And he’s certainly not Don Imus. Savage is, according to Mediaweek, the nation’s No. 3 radio talk-show personality, which is already one step away from oblivion. If he does get canned, there’s always the veep slot on the Tom Tancredo ticket. But don’t look for the pair at the Republican National Convention. At best, they’ll be in the parking lot, quite literally on soapboxes, sharing their vision for an America that, if we’re lucky, will never exist anywhere but in their minds.
