H&M’s Recyclable Clothes Program Wins Cannes Design Grand Prix

H&M’s in-store recycling system and a startup’s biodegradable material made to reduce plastic pollution took home the top prizes in the Design category at Cannes Lions. 

In the first batch of honors announced at Cannes, H&M’s “Looop” and Superunion’s “Notpla” both won the Design Grand Prix.

The jurors awarded two Grands Prix in Design, one of which went to a product called Notpla by London agency Superunion. 

Partnering with the Skipping Rocks Lab startup, Superunion designed an edible, biodegradable material made from plants and seaweed that can be used to replace plastic cups at events, sachets for condiments or coating for a wide range of products.
